Mini Mission Training

Yesterday a group of Year 5 students from our feeder primary schools visited English Martyrs School to receive some Mini Mission training. They learned the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego along with a couple of songs so that they can deliver an assembly for their friends back in their own primary schools.

Some of our super talented Year 13 students led the training and worked with the mini mission teams from each primary school in small groups. This is all in preparation for our Mission that will be taking place in the new school year so look out for more information on that soon!

The Big Beach Ball

The Big Beach Ball is happening again this year with fun, food and faith for all the family. Join us on Thursday 17th July between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. down the far end of Marine Drive on the Headland (heading towards the cemetery). Please note that anyone under the age of 16 needs to accompanied by a responsible adult. Hope to see you there!

Brimham Rocks

This is the group we took to Iona in 2013 on a little reunion at Brimham Rocks. It's an amazing place a world away from video games and our young people loved it! If you've never been, we'd all strongly recommend it.

Chapel warming party

Pizza, pop plus praise and worship is usually a winning combination and it certainly was tonight as we warmed up the newly refurbished chapel at EMS with some roof-raising singing. Even though Anne-Marie was at home sick we didn't let that stop us and rang her up instead! Now the chapel is the warmest place in school, make sure you pop in when you're next passing.

We love it when a plan comes together!

The Mission Planning Group are starting to get excited as the months of planning start to come together. Tonight we heard the almost finished Mission anthem (thank you Kev), worked out how many T-Shirts we might need and planned for the Generation Game. It's going to be the best Mission ever!

Sacred Heart walk the Pilgrims' Path to Holy Island

On a beautifully sunny day, fifty-odd children from Sacred Heart Primary School walked across the sand to Holy Island and loved every step of the way. The ruined priory then proved to be a fantastic venue for our open-air prayer service where we read the parable of the mustard seed and every child received a stone with either peace, love, faith, trust, or harmony inscribed on it. Then it was off for an ice-cream before boarding the bus home. What a memorable day!
