We presented our Cross to the Lord in thanksgiving for a successful pilgrimage. Along the way we had made many sacrifices to help our fellow pilgrims, even when we found the going tough; but we had also found great joy in the friendship and the fun. Thank you to everyone- you are wonderful- and we hope to see you next year!

That's it for today before our final push for Holy Island tomorrow. Before heading off to our camp site,  Tom leads a reflection, challenging us to empty ourselves of our pride and fill ourselves with God.

Aftrr 4 nights of hard floors and sharing a room with 22 other people,  a tent is a little bit of luxury. Whilst we patch up some of the more ropey tents, Fr. Adrian offers practical and spiritual help to tired pilgrims, showing us all a shining example of the best in pastoral care.

Just above St. Cuthbert's Cave we found the best picnic spot in the world with a perfect view right over to Holy Island,  our final destination tomorrow. But before we get there we've got a bit more walking to do and we're beginning to feel the strain of a week on the road!

We came across this strange tribe living in the woods just outside Hethpool. They were friendly but, as we didn't speak their language, communication was difficult and after an exchange of gifts we parted company.
