When we were on retreat at Ampleforth during March, each of the smaller groups took a different gospel story and presented a short drama to everyone. These included the parable of the unmerciful servant and the story of Adam and Eve along with a reflection led by Anne-Marie on why God became one of us in Jesus. We had a quick look at these in our Day 2 recap video but here is the extended version:

Our 'Walk of witness' on Good Friday this year was the very first time that we have tried an event such as this in Hartlepool. People came from each parish across town to take part carrying a cross along the way then joining together while the Passion was read at the War Memorial. Here is a short video of the event:

Today a group of people, both young and not so young, from each parish across Hartlepool walked to the War Memorial carrying a cross with them. This was our first Walk of Witness that we have carried out in town and it was wonderful to see so many people attend what will hopefully be the first of many more of these to come in the future. Here is just a small selection of photographs from the event:

When we were at Ampleforth in March we carried out our own version of the Stations of the Cross. This year, rather than follow our traditional route into the valley we started in the garden near Alban Roe House and stopped at three other places on our way to the Crypt in the Monastery. Here are just a few short highlights from our Stations of the Cross:

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.” John 11:25-26

On the 1st Sunday of Lent, a group of children from St. Joseph's Parish gathered to create their own Stations of the Cross. Having spent the afternoon painting, cutting, sticking and eating ice-cream they invited the whole parish to join them to celebrate their efforts and to meditate on Christ's journey to the cross.
