At the end of May, 14 Young people lived in a self-built refugee camp for the weekend, experiencing some of what it is like to be poor and marginalised. Eating nothing but 2 meals of lentils each day and having no access to the TV, video games or mobile phones proved to be a real challenge but one they rose to impressively. The experience was deepened through Bible studies led by the young people themselves reflecting on God's relationship with the poor. The event was also very well supported by adults from the parishes who supervised over the whole weekend and cooked breakfast on Sunday morning!
