Students from English Martyrs are trying to gain their school fairtrade status. Part of this is to publicise fair trade to the wider community so, on a cold Wednesday in February, a group of them staffed a tombola stall in Tesco, handing out leaflets and encouraging passers-by to win a wide variety of fair-trade goods. We have since repeated this at ASDA and managed to raise around £200 in total and hopefully the awareness of the good people of Hartlepool!
