While most of the young people from our schools are now enjoying their Summer holidays, 7 whole weeks of them for your lucky English Martyrs Students, the blog will be busier than ever over the next month with a massive event just around the corner. Anne-Marie Lavelle, Bernadette Malcolmson, James Race, Andrew Trueman and Tom Kitchen will all be representing our Deanery when they travel with the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle to Madrid for World Youth Day.

We mentioned this event way back in January and ever since the group have been building towards their trip which will take place between August 12th and 22nd. They've taken part in a 14 mile sponsored walk around the Derwent Valley, been on retreat at the Youth Village and have been making plans recently for some of the things of our culture they can share with the people of Toledo as part of the Days in the Diocese Programme before WYD begins.

During the event we hope to upload many photo and video updates each day to help everyone back home share in the experience. Keep checking back for more details and please don't forget to leave your messages for us in the comment section on our posts!
